How-To Export ALL Client Data from Simple Practice


Our team is ready to help you transfer all of your data from Simple Practice with just three file exports. Simply follow this step-by-step guide to collect the right files and send them our way.

The following 3 files are needed to migrate from Simple Practice:
  1. Export Zip File
  2. client_demographics.csv
  3. client_details.csv


Exporting Full Client Data Zip File

Step 1: Log in to your Simple Practice account.
Step 2: Click the Settings tab and then click Practice - Data Export


Step 3: Click on the blue Export Client Data button and select "All clients in the practice"
Step 4: Then, select "Complete" to export ALL client data

Step 5: Download the exported Zip file once it's successfully been generated

WarningOnce you have downloaded the Zip file, do NOT decompress the zip. To import the data into MBP, you will simply drag/drop the ONE Zip file into our Import Center (directions can be found below). 
OPTIONAL -- if you opted into password protecting your Zip file, you'll be able to locate the password on the Data Exports page immediately after you've begun the export. 

Downloading Client Details

Step 1: Log in to your Simple Practice account. 
Step 2: Click the Analytics tab then click Reports. 
Step 3: From the Clients & Appointments reports, click the Client Details. 

Step 4: Adjust the date range starting from when you joined Simple Practice, then click on Apply to confirm the changes.

Step 5: Click the Export at the upper-right corner, and choose CSV. This will download the status of your client, if they are active or inactive and other informations.

Downloading Client Demographics

Step 1: Log in to your Simple Practice account. 
Step 2: Click the Analytics tab then click Reports. 
Step 3: From the Clients & Appointments reports, click the Client Demographics. 

Step 4: Click the Export at the upper-right corner, and choose CSV.  

Importing Your Data into MBP

After securing the three files, you're now prepared to import them into your My Best Practice account.

Step 1: Log-in to My best Practice, then go to Account Settings. 
Step 2: Click the Import Center tab, and if it's not already active, click on Create New Import Request.

Step 3: Within the Import Center, you have the option to either drag and drop files directly into the system for uploading, or simply click 'here' to browse through your files. 

Step 4: (Optional) If there are password for the files, you can type it in the Notes box.
