Events Tab

Events Tab

The Events tab in My Best Practice is your centralized timeline for all clinical activity—both session‑related and non‑session events. It brings together progress notes, administrative actions, and practice‑wide documentation in one clean, filterable view so clinicians and administrators can quickly understand a client’s full history.

What Lives in the Events Tab

1. Session Notes (Progress Notes)

All documentation tied to a scheduled appointment appears here, including:

  • Intake notes

  • Individual and family session notes

  • Group therapy notes

  • Treatment plan updates

  • Any session‑specific clinical documentation

Each session note is timestamped and linked to the corresponding appointment on the calendar, giving you a chronological record of care.

2. Timeline Events (Non‑Session Events)

Timeline events are entries not tied to a specific appointment, such as:

  • Phone calls

  • Emails or outreach attempts

  • Collateral contacts

  • Administrative updates

  • Case management actions

  • Documentation of significant client events or milestones

These allow you to maintain a complete narrative of client activity—even outside formal sessions.

New Filtering Options

The Events tab now includes enhanced filtering so you can quickly locate the exact documentation you need.

Filter by Date

Narrow your view to:

  • A single day

  • A custom date range

  • A specific month or year

This is especially useful for audits, reporting, or reviewing a client’s recent activity.

Filter by Event Type

Choose to display:

  • Session notes only

  • Timeline events only

  • Specific categories of events (e.g., phone calls, treatment plan updates, administrative actions)

This helps clinicians focus on the type of documentation relevant to their workflow.

Filter by Professional

If multiple clinicians contribute to a client’s record, you can filter by:

  • Individual clinician

  • Supervising professional

  • Any staff member who added documentation

This makes it easy to review work by a specific provider or ensure compliance across the team.

How the Events Tab Supports Your Workflow

  • Complete client history in one place – No more jumping between calendar, notes, and admin logs.

  • Faster chart reviews – Filter by date, type, or clinician to instantly surface what matters.

  • Improved compliance – Clear visibility into all documentation ensures nothing is missed.

  • Better collaboration – Multiple professionals can contribute to the client timeline with full transparency.
